Nope, but I didn’t hear the term selfie until the 2010s.

Still use mine, it proves useful, I do not have too expose my phone in public places.

Absolutely were. I had a Pentax one that I used to make stop motion animations on back in 2008. Then I had a slightly better Fujifilm one in 2010. Then I got a Canon DSLR and now I use a Nikon DSLR for making videos. Can't say I miss the first one I had tbh, but it was all I had at the time so I guess it counts for something!

I even use my old phones as cameras.

My first digital camera was in 2007, a Kodak Easy Share and I still have it. I just use my phone because it has editing programs and I can send the photos instantly wherever I want them.

I got my first one (Argus) around 2000 or 2001. Right out of the box it took garbled pictures and was missing the serial cable, and neither Office Max or Argus were very cooperative about making it right. Then in 2003 I got a Polaroid Combocam, then in 2006 got some little silver square Polaroid that I still have somewhere. A couple years later I got a Toshiba with optical zoom from a resale shop, with smartmedia card. I still use that one with my tripod. Other than that usually just use my phone because that's what I have on hand at the time.

I received my first digital camera that year as well; it was a Canon Powershot... and I still have it today! (That's the one I use for taking all the pictures I have posted on here.)
I don't have a cameraphone, though.

That is my family's first digital Camera.

We must have gotten it around 2005 or so. It was an absolute nightmare to use on anything that moved. It just wouldn't take pictures unless everything was almost perfectly still. Nice for landscape pictures but unusable for almost anything else. It's just gathering dust now but I can't get myself to throw it away.

I just found an old compact camera, similar to the above, re-charged it, and set it up on the computer, and discovered that the main viewing screen is broken and cannot obtain info about on the computer.

Does it still work?

Anyone remember that transitional period when compact digital cameras and film cameras coexisted? Circa 2001-2004 or so. Haha.

Does it still work?
I believe so but the battery is dead and I would need to search for the charging cable to test it.

I was very fortunate, for both of my respective charging cables were with the cameras when in storage.

Ah, okay then. Hopefully the charger still works too.

I had one. A red Canon compact digital camera. I loved the quality of the photos that I would then upload to my computer with a SD card. :)

We bought one in 2002. I still have the camcorder in storage along with the movies I made in 2002, 2003 and 2005.

2000-2004 was still the film camera era. 2005-2009 was the digital camera era. I remember back in the early 00’s my parents would always go to Wal-Mart or a drug store to get those Kodak photos processed. I don’t remember that going on much anymore by 2005. On my Savannah and Disney World trips in 2006 we used digital cameras for everything and all that data was stored in the SD card, but for Jamaica in 2004 we still used film cameras.

Same year for us. Maybe late 2004 but I’m not sure. I just know the moment 2005 hit we were completely done with film cameras and only used digital from that point on.

A lot of people didn't let go of them until well into the early 2010s as well. I remember I went to a concert in 2012 and I still saw a bunch of digital cameras there in the audience.

I still use mine today. As long as it's in good working order, I will continue to take pictures with it. :)

And it still works like a charm, after almost 15 years!
