2001-2002 era

2000!

Increasing soft spot for 2007 and 2008 (but 2009 is better than both).

2003 and 2004 was filled with fun, sun, and watching The Simpsons and Family Guy was still good!

These are those simple classic topics. Haha I'm starting to like the 2000s in general the more distant its becoming.

I’m born in 2004 though  ;D so, my favourite year would be 2007, when Spongebob was popular on TV, and R&B/Hip Hop artists and bands like Black Eyed Peas and Soulja Boy were popular. Rihanna was entering the mainstream.

But If I were to technically pick my favourite 2000s year, it would still be 2007 lol

Culturally, the early 2000s in particular. For my personal life, any year from 2003-2007 just screams 2000s & carefree memories 8).

My favorite year personally and culturally would be 2006. It was such an exciting time to be a 10 year old. Remember the premire of Pokemon battle frontier, watching we raw for the first time during the return of dx and edge vs cena feud, getting cable that year, watching the final season of ned declassified as it was airing, remember the launch of the da lite and eventually getting one that Christmas,etc. So many memories i had that year. 2006 is not just my favorite year of the 2000s but my favorite year in my life this far but that can all change.

Rihanna was entering the mainstream.
Not 2007, she already had huge hits in both 2005 and 2006, with "Pon de Replay" and "SOS".

2000, because it was the only full year that retained a remotely late '90s feel to it, and was still the pure "dial up Internet" era. The original PlayStation and N64 were still the gaming systems of choice, as was Game Boy Color and Dreamcast. Personally, I visited the Statue of Liberty for the first time and visited Cape Cod/Boston when the Big Dig was under construction, and saw a Red Sox game. That said, there are still a lot of things that were "contemporary" relative to the '90s that I still see enough to prefer that decade, though it was an exciting time. Cellphones were quite common by now, but you didn't see them everywhere and payphones/landlines were still common. It was also a jubilee year, but it's hard to believe that this year is bordering on becoming vintage already, making early Millennials like myself feel old.

For cartoons, early to mid.
For music, mid to late.

I liked the late 2000s music too, as it was colorful and bright with electropop, but the same goes for the Y2K era, with Teen pop, it was also colorful. But in terms of the economy, the mid 2000s were superior, because of the Great recession of the late 2000s and early 2010s screwing up the economy. For cartoons and TV shows, I liked all 3 parts (Early, mid, late), as you had cartoons from Spongebob to Phineas and Ferb, and Disney channel was still relevant during the time.
