This was really hard as  2004 2005 and 2006 all had EMo in them


I am going to pick the 2004-2005 school year because Summer 2005, that Summer was like the summer of emo kids
at the mall lol

My second choice would be  the 2005-2006 school year, once again all hard because all of these years had heavy influx of this style

If I had to pick I would say 2004-05. Pretty much every band was doing emo then. But it was still huge the other two years too.

Interesting how big emo was in the mid 00s in my middle school kids were still dressing emo in the late 00s. Heck high schoolers now in my area are trying to bring it back.

The mid 2000s had all the classic emo albums.

I'd say 2005-06'. In fact, 2005-06' seemed to just be the cultural peak of everything 'noughties'.

I can only speak to my local situation, but it seemed to be the entirety of the year 2006. That was the height.

I wasn't in high school during those years, but I'm gonna say 06-07 because my senior year the alternative crowd wasn't what you'd call emo.

I would say the 2006-2007. I used to think the mid 2000s were big for emo. But when I looked back on them, I found that I, like many people, exaggerated the influence of emo in the 2000s. I mean, the whole trend was really focused on specific group of people of a specific age range. It wasn't something that was influencing the culture as a whole. Well, for the most part at least. I actually think that around 2006-2007/early 2008ish,  elements of emo fashion was bleeding into mainstream fashion. For example I noticed a lot of guys were getting the whole overly straightened flippy hairstyle. Yes it existed in 2004-2005, but the average guy would not have been interested in it. It was mostly a style that was concentrated in the emo/scene subculture. Not to mention 2006-2007/2008 was when bands like My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At the Disco, Paramore, etc., were all dominating the mainstream. Again they did exist before 2006, but they were mostly regulated to their respective scenes.

2006/2007. This is also when Naruto's popularity peaked and was heavily associated with the concept whatever how you look at it. Emo really established its self by the late 2000s.

I think 2006-2007 are the “peakest” of the peak 00s years, so it stands to reason the emo subculture would stand out the most at that time.
