I actually own 3 of your top 5 - GTA 3, GTA SA and Metal Gear 2. Personally I'd put GTA SA as number 1.

Nah, Nintendo 64 was not really a major player in 2000 beyond No Mercy and Majora, Perfect Dark
The game was not bad but it did not get much hype and is often forgotten

Ignoring the nostalgia Mario galaxy is a better game in every area besides story
even the ratings back this up.

Galaxy was a good game but it is overrated, Sunshine was much better

I had a list of games that did not make the list
- Jet Set Radio Future
- Ninja Gaiden for Xbox
- Halo 1
But not enough spots! And yeah Sunshine was WAYYYYYYY better, more crisp music better atmosphere.

Ratings are just an aggregate of opinions. They're both great games and it comes down to personal preference; even if my preference is quite rare. Personally I was put off with the motion controls in Mario Galaxy, and not in a minor way. Not a fan of the hub either: made the game feel very linear and resulted in a "let's get through all this" approach towards completing the game, didn't really feel attached to many of the levels (with exceptions). I much preferred Delfino Square and all its hidden treasures.

Sonic X-Treme had the same gameplay as Mario Galaxy, Nintendo just used a version of it.
The mechanics in 2002's sunshine such as the water gun were a fun element to the gameplay and new.
Sunshine is the real sequel to MArio 64.

Exactly, Mario Sunshine was like an experience, it was like you were on Vacation or something lmao Galaxy just felt like sheesh, crappy cover crappy atmosphere, crappy pixels. The Wii is overrated as fudge.
The Music in Sunshine is like top 10 in Nintendo games.
