In my opinion, they are useful because they provide people with information about how people and trends looked like in a certain time period.

You literally can't tell if these pics were taking in 2005, 2009, 2012, or 2018. Nothing has changed! The world is stagnant.

In my opinion, they are useful because they provide people with information about how people and trends looked like in a certain time period.
2009 is a tricky one, because the fashions can paint the picture it felt like the classic 2000s when it was not, the mood was

2009 was a weird year, That summer felt like a tug of war between the late 2000s & The early 2010s.

How could it have felt like that at the time it was happening? You weren't aware of what the 2010's would feel or be like. These topics make my skin crawl.

At the time it felt like the core 2000s was behind us because most of the things that made up that era were gone or slowly being phased out.
We didn't know what the era would end up being, in hindsight it was BETA early 2010s culture forming.
