Subject: Who else remembers television in the 2000s?

Back when we had Jojo's Circus, Higglytown Heroes, Imagination Movers, Billy & Mandy, good SpongeBob, and so many more?
I miss those blissful days and I hate being old :\'(

Started the 2000s in my pre teens and ended in my early adult so of course I remember tv from the 2000s lol

Yeah I used to watch a lot of TV in the 2000s because I was still in school and had a lot of free time.

I stopped watching Playhouse Disney when the Imagination Movers premiered. But Jojo's Circus, Higglytown Heroes, Little Einsteins, The Koala Brothers, Rolie Polie Olie, and Bear in the Big Blue House were fun to watch. Also, television was the sh*t back then. So much so that I have several complete series box sets of shows that I watched back in the 2000s.

I feel so weird being nostalgic for 2000's television. It seems like it was only yesterday when everyone on the internet was screaming about "everything made after 1999 sucking."

Honestly, you can't be "old" if those are the shows that come to mind when you think of the 2000s lol. So don't feel bad.

I'm still part of that "everything made after 1999 sucking crowd" LOL. Ironically, as I run a "classic TV" collection, I still see a lot of 2000s TV as "after my time", even though I was young then. I see the '80s and '90s as my peak "era" of good times, great oldies TV, before the Reality TV trend, consistent "breaking news", digital cable subchannels, HD, and single-camera sitcoms became popular.
Of course, now that it's been nearly two decades since 2000, I may start to look at it at a different light, such as "it feels so new yet so old at the same time", or "look how ridiculous we were back then!"

If this is your childhood, you are far from "old." You're college aged at most.

I remember a large enough portion of it, prime to peak finale Cartoon Network, Disney Channel, BET, MTV2 and classic Animal Planet.
The 2000s will always have the most accurate definitions of these channels.

Dear lord MTV 2 in 2001/2002 was phewwwwwwwwwww
it was always MTV & MTV 2 I had on in the morning before going to school, later it turned to just MTV & Vh1 as MTV 2
stopped being a 24/7 music channel.
Just seeing that SN SPanking new logo in the morning made it feel so legit

No one's bragging about remembering television in the 2000's, especially with the shows you listed. JoJo's Circus, Higglytown Heroes, and Imagination Movers!? ;D That tells me how young you are. Sorry OP but that's not going to cut it. No hate though. I think you could consider yourself as "old" on this forum if you can remember primetime television in the 90's or earlier. (NOT the kid shows)

I remember primetime gameshows in the early 2000s... specifically Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (which debuted in August 1999, but its popularity carried into the early 00s) and Weakest Link.

That was on Fox network during the 1999-2000 season, but I was actually unaware of it until early 2002, when GSN showed it in reruns. I don't think anyone ever won the top prize on it, though.

It likely was.
According to Wiki, it only lasted one season (which I was right about, in my above post), and...as I thought, no one ever won the top prize. (However, one contestant did get to the $2M question, only to not get it right, and hence leave with nada.)

It doesn't really matter, but all those shows he listed were preschool shows of the core 2000's, and we wouldn't be watching those by then. In fact, you're not considering as "old" period for any type of show you watched during the 2000's, that's still only a decade ago. If we're talking about primetime TV in the 90's or even 80's then yeah you could be considered as old.

And I for one would never have been the least bit interested in them, since I was already grown up by then. When I was preschool aged, that was in the mid-80s, and I would typically watch Sesame Street.

And again that depends on one's own point of view.

TV was okay until about 2008. Then went down. Then went back up, IMO in 2011, then in 2015 went down again.

The 2000s were the last decade of the 4:3 SD shows era. Sometime in the late 2000s, TV shows started to move to 16:9 HD, but it didn’t became standard until the early 2010s.

Spongebob and Billy and Mandy are quintessential 2000s cartoons.
Billy and mandy had some genius moments here and there but I feel like they relied on gore/booger/fart jokes wayyyy too much. Also the characters were mainly cold and soulless and had no good vibes or positive feelings most of the time.
And people say Millennial kid culture was all sunshine and rainbows and Barney, haha.

Billy and Mandy isn't for everyone. For me, the show honestly aged bad, at least after season 2. Season 1 and 2 are the prime of the show.
The jokes now are cringy and the quality style of the animation is odd. They really did capture that "grim" feel of the show. I hate that ** now. Haha

I love 2000’s gameshows. Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?, Deal or No Deal and I remember a japanese gameshow called “The Human Tetris” which was one of the first virals on Internet.
