Do you talk about turning like a mature teen or like an adult? ???
Because I turned into an adult nowhere near the 2000s. I don't even think I've left my teen spirit fully in the past either right now ;D

What do you mean by come of age? I turned teenager in the late 90's and could legally drink in the mid 2000's.

OP was 13 in early 2002, so I assumed it was whenever you felt more like a teen than a kid.

2009 for me, I pretty much outgrown most kiddy stuff by that point and pretty much everything from my childhood felt different.

Personally, I consider myself coming of age in the late 2000s/early 2010s but according to the definitions in this thread, I'll say 04-05. I always say these are two of my favorite years of the 2000s and it's precisely because I started doing more mature stuff. For this reason, I can still relate to my 2004+ self but I can't relate to my childhood self because I was too young, completely different time.

If I want to talk about when I became a mature teen I would say it was probably the fall of 2001. I was a sophomore in high school that year and that was the first year that really felt more connected to my college/young adult years as opposed to middle school.
