Being born in the 2000's has its ups and downs. I don't hate when I was born because I think it's pointless to especially since you can't go back in time and pick when you can be born. All I do is try to appreciate the fact that I was fully able to experience this decade because I really like the culture of this decade. This decade is basically my childhood/teen decade.

I honestly never really wished to experience the 80's and 90's. I mean I wouldn't mind it and I agree that it would be cool but I don't remember wishing it so much to the point where I hate myself because of when I was born.

It's the same for me as well. One time my mother born in 1979 was telling me a story about her 80s childhood. It got me thinking how it really must've been back then.. :o But you're right there will be kids wishing they were born earlier in the future and wondering how the 2010s were.

My sister born in 2011 grew up with more technology than I could have ever grown up with at her age. She knew how to lock/unlock the iPad when she was only 2 years old. Her favorite games are apps and she watches YouTube on my dads iPhone. It’s crazy man. There needs to be a healthy balance between technology and doing other stuff (e.g playing outside, talking with the family, etc)

The same advice for 7th grade really. It's not that different, except for the fact that you'll almost be in high school. But really, just do well and be happy, make new friends, enjoy it while it lasts and you'll be fine.

100% agree with this. ;D And this is coming from someone who never had a boyfriend before. I've seen a lot of middle school girls get their hearts broken and cry over their ex at such a young age.

Now 14 felt very different for me because the 2nd half of 8th grade was really lit then starting high school was a big phase change for me, and even before the first day of high school throughout the summer I went to cross country conditioning talking to the upperclassmen for the first time and I got to run around a chunk of the high school campus (this was June and July 2010). Also, 2010 was like the peak year of electropop music and that fun era of hip hop post-snap/crunk but still pre-trap though. 14 is when I really felt like an official teenager, but 13 just felt like an extension of 12.
