Imo, 2007 was very good. Best year out of the late 00s easily.

They were both pretty boring for me, I just spent a lot of time playing video games and trolling Sony fanboys online.
In spring 2006 I bought a DS and got into Mario Kart DS and Animal Crossing. They were the first non-PC games that I got to play online, and that felt really high tech back then. My dad upgraded our house to Wi-fi that spring. I also got into Advanced Wars: Dual Strike. I got New Super Mario Bros. too but that game was really boring imo. On the PS2, I got into the Devil May Cry and Need for Speed series that summer iirc, those were great games (I skipped the second DMC :-X).
I used to play Runescape, World of Warcraft (MMOs) and Bootleggers (browser based text games).
Other than that, the 2006 World Cup in Italy was really fun to watch. Avril Lavigne played at the closing ceremony! Speaking of Avril Lavigne, she also got married to Deryck Whibley of Sum 41 that summer. I was so happy for them!
In the summer of 2007, I got Mario Strikers Charged for the Wii. This was the first online game for the Wii, and also the first online console game I got to play. And boy was it addictive! I got into the Phoenix Wright series on the DS as well. I must've played tons of PS2 games that summer as well, but I can't really remember. I also got Mario Party 8, and that game was so disappointing. I used to be a huge Mario Party fan, but Mario Party 8 was just atrocious. My friends didn't have any fun playing it at all, we just went back to playing Strikers or Wii Sports. I never got back into Mario Party after that, shame.
Super Smash Brothers Brawl was giving daily updates on Smash Dojo website. I would wake up early everyday just to read what it was! I remember when Snake was revealed to be in Brawl, it practically broke the Internet. The original release date for Brawl was intended to be December 3, 2007 (almost exactly 10 years ago today :o) but it was delayed to March 2008.
Other than that, I just remember it being the summer where everyone had a meltdown. Nicole Smith died, Britney Spears went crazy, Donald Trump had that fight with Rosie O Donnell. It was the peak of the gaudy 2000s gutter celebrity culture.
E3 2006 and E3 2007 were both disasters. The thing about E3 2006 was that it was an epic disaster that spawned many memes that would be enjoyed for years to come. E3 2007 was just forgettable.

No. Both were the same.

No. Both were the same.
No, 2006 had more of the classic 2000s vibe until the you-know-what happened later in the year. 2007 had more of a modern, energized feel from what I remember.

'07 was the last year of the mid '00s. The late '00s were from 2008 to 2010.

2007 was mid/late 00s to me, it was both.

2007 was hands down the best year of the 00's. Half of my favourite music, films and TV shows came out around that time. 2007 was peak 00's.

I agree. Late 2006 into early 2008 are what I look back on as the "peak 00s" era.

The first iPhone was released that year, so there was no shortage of hoopla surrounding that.
It was also a big year in music, with 50 Cent, Kanye, Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, Chris Brown, T-Pain, and Rihanna topping the charts.
