2007 was such an epic year for HipHop and music in general. Kanye West and 50 Cent in a friendly sales battle, us listeners were the winners.
Also, that year Alternative, Gangsta, and Southern HipHop clashed with Lupe Fiasco and Common flanking Kanye in bringing conscious hiphop to the middle class. Even though Gangsta rap was on it's way out, Fabolous, 50 Cent and Jay Z all dropped heat that year. TI and UGK repped the south and brought more attention to southern rap.
