2006 - 2007 school year was when I graduated elementary school, I was in grade 6. I actually agree with you in the notion that 2006 - 2007 was the last classic school year.

I beg to differ. I think 2005-2006 was the last classic school year to be quite honest with you familia.

Around September 2006-June 2007(that's the 06-07 school year where I live) is when we had all these massive changes that killed the classic 2000s, like The WB changing to The CW, Pluto being demoted to a dwarf planet, Justin Timberlake changing his image, CN, Nick, and Disney stop showing 90s shows, the iPhone coming out, etc.

The 2006-2007 school year was more of a gray area to me, since it was the last school year that I considered as the mid 2000s. Although it shifted towards the late 2000s by the summer of 2007, so it wasn't purely mid 2000s by most means.

Nick still aired most of their 90s shows up until the very late 2000s, while Cartoon Network most of its older shows on Boomerang (before it was rebranded in 2015). Disney was the only one who stopped showing their 90s shows by the late 2000s.

I mean late 2006 changed everything, but it was still classic enough and had mid influences to be considered a core classic school year

Classic 00's school years

mainly the cut off is the 2005-2006 school year due to it feeling more like the mid 2000s more,
but I think 2006-2007 is at the very end of that vibe.

I don't think ''classic'' is the same as ''mid''. Maybe in the case of the 00s they are the same.

Have you thought about spreading this "late 2006 changed everything" idea as a meme of sorts? Like, making a meme of it on 9gag or something and then sharing it with your friends on Facebook, then let it spread like wildfire?

People wouldn't think thoroughly towards it as a meme. Especially if it's featured on 9gag, since it's not the greatest sites to get your memes from.

I think more people need to know the truth about how late 2006 changed everything. Your average joe seems to think 2004 or 9/11 changed everything.

By late 2006, it was still the core 2000s. A lot of people outside of this website think that either 9/11 or 2004 changed everything. It would be drastic if a lot of them were born in the mid-late 90s.

2008 changed everything.

Politically? I might say so. Culturally? Maybe. Technologically? It's more of a gray area within that kind of field. Economically? Well, Obama was widely popular because of the 2008 crash, so yeah.

Oprah became a billionaire in 2003, so 2003 was the beginning of her Peak Years.

I watched her from 2004 to the end, in 2008 I think. When she came out with "The Color Purple" and then retired. I was so sad!  :\'(

Now there's rumours of her trying to run for president LOL we've come a long way.

I used to watch everything on TV tbh. There was Oprah, but there was also the Tyra Banks show, Rachel Rey, and I even watched Dr. Phil, Jerry Springer and Maury Povich. I had way too much free time ;D

The show ended in 2011. Like around May. Honestly, Oprah doesn't really have a 'peak'. She just keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger! It's just that 2003 to about 2005 was my favorite era of hers. She has a hit TV channel and she's worth $3 billion now. It used to be only $2.7 billion.

And yes, Jerry Springer!  ;D  ;D  ;D

Oh mess, in 2008 she announced her retirement but she didn't retire until 2011 as you said. ;D But nonetheless, that's the year I stopped watching it. I just checked and her peak was actually the '90s, but she had a bump around 2004/2005 :o

Jerry Springer should be banned from TV, it's just too much ;D

My mother and grandmother frequently watched Oprah during the mid and late 2000s.

The 2006/2007 school year was the best school year of my childhood. I even made a best friend. Here in Ireland it's called primary school and we have one teacher for the entire year to teach us all our classes so if you don't like the teacher you pretty much won't have a happy year. Fortunately the teacher I had for this year was brilliant and very nice. I think it was totally classic 2000's as well the mid 2000's culture was still strong

Well, at least now you know why. When I predicted Nirvana would make a comeback in 2011 with Axl Rose as the lead singer that was just the booze talking! 8)

This could also explain why so many of my early posts were largely incoherent and full of punctuation errors. ;D

Since you're back, I have to apologize for the "generationology" crap that I think I helped perpetuate (though other members are equally guilty of this too) and left a trail of destruction in my wake. Sorry if it drove you away from the site; nowadays, I'm striving to make topics that normal people actually care about. ;D

Generational discussions are like marijuana: they can make you lazy, hinders your ability to think, turns you into a narcissist who hurts everyone around you, has a negative effect on your lungs, and above all else makes you feel good, even if you have done nothing at all to earn it.
