Subject: Recently watched Josie and the Pussycats
Written By: Wiz83 on 04/12/15 at 7:42 pm
I recently watched a movie from 2001 called Josie and the Pussycats. It was a comedy satire of the music business that was loosely based on the '70s cartoon and starred a young, post-She's All That Rachel Leigh Cook along with Rosario Dawson and Tara Reed (at the height of her post-American Pie fame). The movie didn't make much a splash apparently when it first came out, but I personally enjoyed the movie and the way it lampooned the music industry and popular culture at large (plus, the lovely Rachel Leigh Cook made for some great eye candy). But what I couldn't help but notice was how dated and retro the movie looks now. I guess that shouldn't be a surprise since 2001 was more than a decade ago, but it seems like just yesterday and it's crazy how movies from that time look so old now.
