Subject: Your life in 2007

Written By: 80sfan on 05/23/14 at 11:28 pm

What was your life like in 2007? Yes, your personal life.

In 2007 I graduated from High School. Class of 2007! Then in June I went to France for two weeks. The trip to France was the best trip of my life. I will never forget the trip and the fun I had going everywhere in France, especially the Eiffel Tower. I met great people from the South of the United States. I got along great with these people, and that was probably the main reason why I had such a great time! I went along on the trip with my mother, who at the time wasn't bossy. My anxiety had not reached its full peak yet, so my mother wasn't a brat, LOL.

In the summer I read the last Harry Potter novel, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Great book by the way.  ;D  In August, I started college but college workload isn't like High School and the speed is a bit faster, and my anxiety really took off, although I've always suffered from it in one way or another.

I started failing classes, badly. Around September 2007 was the beginning of a long and hard six and a half years with my parents. Although the first signs of not getting along with them were in 2005. I will never forget the last six/seven years of my life (2007-2014), which started around this time of September of 2007 and ended this month of 2014! 2007 began an era in my life, a dark one that will be imprinted in my mind....forever.

What about you? What was 2007 like for your personal life?

I had just moved to California in the summer of 2006, and was enrolled in a montessori school. My parents took me out in January of 2007 because they didn't like my teacher and a lot of the kids were rude. Mum decided to homeschool me, and I went through extensive therapies for my ADHD while being homeschooled. I had almost no friends, except for a few that I met at the homeschool group meeting we had every other week. Towards the end of the year, I got really lonely and I began making friend with someone who was 'emo' and I decided to start dressing emo and listening to emo music. Around November, my dad's pay got cut so we had a very minimal Christmas and didn't go visit anyone like we normally did.
2007 was also the year I discovered I liked guys. I did some research into it and came out to a few close friends of mine, saying I was bisexual. Around the end of the year, my parents found my account on a teen support website I went on, and decided to ask me about it. I knew my parents weren't homophobic, but I could just never find the right time to tell them. Of course they still accepted me though once they found out.
Other than that, the year was kind of boring, not much else happened. 2008 was when things got even worse for me though. :(

In February, My niece was born to my sister. I was in 8th grade during the first half of year and I had fun for my last year in middle school. Before I graduated, my class went to Soak City as one of our 8th grade events and it was wonderful. I had a great time and i will never forget it. Next, then I graduated with my class having the ceremony at the front of school. It was great day for me as I was moving up to high school. That same night, my family and I went out to hometown buffet to celebrate for my accomplishment. Best night ever. After middle school, summer came and I played on my Xbox 360 all day long while also watching Youtube videos when it was good. September comes, high school starts for me and on the first day, I was looking for my first class. I somehow got lost and had to ask where my class was located. Then, I found it and was a little late. I introduced myself to the class and sat down right after. The rest of my classes i got there on time. My first day of high school was awkward, but it was still a good day. 2 weeks later, I celebrated my birthday, except I didn't do anything that day, but it was still good no matter what. In October, since I live in SD, there was the wildfires that caused everyone to be out of school for a week. Everyone was safe thank goodness; however, we needed to get back on track for school and it was right before Halloween. Last, on Christmas, my whole family got together and we all celebrated it at one of my cousin's house. It was a good day, then I went home.

2007 for me was a good and crazy year.

I know. I dont think we could go outside during that week, so everyone stayed inside and relaxed. We then went back to school on Tuesday resuming classes. Good thing it was over and at least the red sky didn't appear like it did in 2003.

Yeah, except for the ads part. For my 8th grade event, it was a trip, but it wasnt like a trip to LA, NY, or Chicago. Soak City is actually here in SD. As for traveling, that's what I'm going to in the future. I will travel the world as an adventure.

and back then there was no collaborations like now Google teamed up YouTube which made it a social media thing and back then there was only YouTube, no Google.

And as for the ads I hate the ads that start before the video begins. ::)

Same here. Ads are annoying. As for Youtube, I can remember watching any video without most of them being deleted. Now, these days, some that I used to watch are gone.

I was in my early 20s and still at school (vocational high school). 2007 was the last more or less carefree year for me, as I only had to concentrate on school. I bought my first DSLR camera (which I still use today), started to really become interested in photography. I also made my first trip to the UK (London) and we made a class trip to South France.

A negative aspect of 2007: I had to spend 7 days at the hospital during my summer vacations due to an appendicitis, but the good aspect is, that I got rid of it forever :)

Well, I turned sixteen in the summer. I was in the 9th/10th grades. I got a black cat and a computer which didn't last long (no connection, I swear). It wasn't the most memorable of years, really.

In 2007, I was eighteen. I graduated this year from high school and attended homecoming and prom with my boyfriend at the time.

That summer I took a friend "snipe hunting." It was hilarious.  8)

I went to college as a freshmen in the autumn. I lived in an all female dorm with a roommate named Sha-Nita. I made several friends who lived in the same dormitory. It was the first time I had ever lived on my own. I found my classes relatively easy, but I quickly came to the conclusion I did not want to pursue nursing as I originally planned.

It may not be different for you, but for some people they can move every year or six months. Or they can go through a depression, or lose loved ones, or marry. Or they can travel or get a better job or learn new things.

Thank you. It seems some people's sole purpose for being here is to derail every conversation into a satire of decadeology, which is no better than decadeology itself imo.

I was 19/20 in 2007, working and taking classes. It was a pretty uneventful year for me personally.

Yes it was. And the curse is over. (Boston also won in 2013, but they broke the curse in 2004).
In 2007, the NHLs Anaheim Mighty Ducks won the Stanley Cup and I watched the last game in the lobby (or bar?)  of a Holiday Inn in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.
