2004 was my favourite year of the 00s. Some of my personal favourites...
Pop-Rock singer, Avril Lavigne, released her sophomore album Under My Skin in March, sporting a darker look and a heavier sound. The album's biggest single, My Happy Ending, peaked in the summer of that year.

During the previous year, Yellowcard released their debut album, Ocean Avenue, and the titular track gained airplay during the summer of 2004.

Finally, Skye Sweetnam, another pop-rock singer from Canada made her debut in 2004 that same year, following up to her 2003 hit Billy S., featured in the Mandy Moore film How To Deal. Tangled Up In Me peaked in the summer of 2004 and during September of the same year, she released her debut album.

There's two versions of this video but I decided to post this video because it's a lot safer for an office environment.

Finger Eleven - One Thing
I used to hear that song all the time when I lived in Houston, just the sound of that song makes me think of Texas for some reason.

I felt like this video/song was so ahead of its time. This song could fit in with all the katy perrys and lady gagas if released today.

Jessica Simpson's younger sister, Ashlee Simpson, entered the music scene that year, at age 19, and this was her debut single, "Pieces Of Me":

I personally like this one; I found it rather catchy at the time it came out.

I remember they used to play that on Radio Disney all the time back in summer of 2004, great memories. I also got her album 'Autobiography' for Christmas.

Kelly Clarkson's Breakaway album was released in the latter part of the year; the title track became a big hit:

I remember that one being all over the radio the following year. (At least early on.)
I don't remember any other hits from him; could he possibly be a 2000s one hit wonder?

He's still around but that's his only popular song. So I would say one hit wonder is accurate. He really is a good artist though. He has other nice dongs.
