That's OK, I only recognize 2 songs from there. One isn't bad, the other might be one of the worst songs I ever heard. lol

Way too little hip-hop/urban pop(which completely dominated the '00s), and a lot of those songs will be more associated with the late '00s/early '10s than exclusively '00s. I'm guessing you're going to start listing songs from '11 and '12 in the '00s section too huh.

Last I checked 2008 and 2009 was still the '00s and the songs from those years are 100% '00s songs.  The late '00s had the most memorable songs and also the ones people will still be jamming to 20 years from now.  I can't really see people in 2025 jamming out to songs like "Crank Dat Soulja Boy" but I can see "Bad Romance" being played at parties for decades to come.

I have never even heard of the songs I used a bold typeface on in your list above. Likewise, I don't believe any of those songs could be considered timeless. Timeless songs are songs which have been popular for at least fifty years in my opinion.

It's way too early to call anything from the 2000s "timeless". But I highly doubt that anything by Miley Cyrus or Taylor Swift is going to wind up being seen that way, kind of the opposite actually in 25 years I bet Miley Cyrus will have joined the likes of Jessica Simpson, All Saints, Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, and Melanie in the forgotten teenybopper pile.

Your list is very narrow and overwhelmingly geared towards to very end of the decade, the style of music of songs like Bad Romance would likely be more associated with the early '10s(electro-house, dance pop, ect), what's so hard to understand about that? The most prevalent style of music in the '00s was hip-hop and urban pop(it centered around '03-'07 esp.) which I think you intentionally underrepresented in your list.

I removed the ones I doubt, and its \"Gorillaz\" not \"The Gorillaz\". Gwen Stefani is a maybe only, who will possibly get associated with the 90s for No Doubt. Even today, I find very little mention of Pussycat Dolls, even on boards like this one.

The late \'00s may only have more memorable songs to you, because it is fresher in your mind. Just like in 2002, a lot of late \'90s music was fresher in people\'s minds than other \'90s music.

The \'00s may need more time to be \"timeless\" but he\'s talking about in many years to come. The \'00s also had more to offer than teenyboppers. Marc Anthony for example.

Kelly Clarkson - Breakaway
Justin Timberlake - SexyBack
Gnarls Barkley - Crazy
Daniel Powter - Bad Day
Maroon 5 - This Love

But all her looks were too sad
So I try a little Freddie

I'VE GONE IDENTITY MAD!!!!!!!!

Since when did 2000's become equivalent to late 00's/early 10's? I will never remember 2000's like that. It's crazy how people are putting majority songs form 2008 and 2009 like that's all that represented the 2000's when that music isn't even significant or doesn't symbolize 2000's music at all. How about these for timeless songs of the 00's:
Yeah
In Da Club
Toxic
Oops
Don't Phunk With My Heart
Umbrella
Crazy in Love
Lose Yourself
Where Is The Love
She will Be loved
We Belong Together
Goodies
Promiscuous
Bad Day
You're Beutiful
Hey Ya
Ignition
My Humps

Pretty good list.  'My Humps' definitely is timeless and heavily representative of the mid 2000s era.  I don't see Toxic being timeless though.  I would replace it with Circus, Radar, or If You Seek Amy.

Since the early 2000s is apparently too far back for bchris to remember:

Flying Without Wings - Westlife (yes, it came out in 1999 but it was popular in 2000 and was basically everywhere when that 2000 Pokemon kids movie was in theaters)
Blue - All Rise

The only song from the '00s that's truly reached "timeless" status already is Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes. Well, at least at sporting events that is.

Seriously, I think that song has already gotten played at more football games than Rock and Roll Part 2 ever did!

I think there's more but you do prove something: Which half of the decade was it released? That's right, the first half. It was a Billboard Modern Rock Tracks number-one song in 2003. The half of the decade that some people here are either too young to remember or have a convenient amnesia of.

Oh and it was 2004's Grammy Awards Best Rock Song. Even 2004 is the FIRST half of the decade.

It may be me, but everything from the last 30+ years just sounds re-hashed...

I wouldn't say that either. I think music is pretty original right now, with grime and trap music, and electropop still reigning supreme. Of course, there are influences, but it's not a rehash.

I dunno, it did pretty poorly out of the US as a hit. Which severly hurts its status as a timeless classic IMHO.
