I wasn't able to find any substantial discussion threads on this series, so I thought I'd start my own.  I actually started watching after the series had already ended last summer and then I cruised through it in around four months.  It's not the *best* sci-fi series I've ever seen but probably the best TV series (although that's probably more ado to my own low opinion of TV in general), and hey, even in the later seasons there are some real gems.  I'm more intrigued as to the cultural-historical significance of the whole thing, I really hope I can gain some good insights because I do feel as though a series like that has to be significant in some capacity.
