Written By: JaxRhapsody on 12/17/10 at 6:11 pm
BAck in elementry(the 90's) I had a folder with the 2010 Ford Synergy on it, and seen it off and on in cars shows up untill a few years ago. SO where can I buy one?

Unfortunately, the Ford Synergy 2010 was a concept car: designers load everything they possibly can into a vehicle, but they have no actual intention of bringing the vehicle into production.
After a few years, the most useful bits of the technology tend to find their way into production models, but the rule of thumb is that nothing that ever makes it onto the road evers look quite as good as the concept car did in the showroom.

Bah...get yourself a 2011 Mustang GT instead, it's 100 times cooler than the Synergy. 8)

No argument there, but there's no reason electric cars can't be cool.
Speaking of which, why not get the best of both worlds? Range limited to a weekend's country drive (maybe 100 miles out and 100 miles back home, because you're not going to be driving this thing in "economy" mode, especially on the twisty back roads) but it's built and steers like a Lotus, and accelerates like a bat out of hell. And it's all-electric.

(*An actual concept car designed in 1958 by Ford, that big silver thing between the tailfins was supposed to house a small nuclear reactor. :o)

Rather like the Nucleon, those turned out to be mostly harmless.
Actually, if you want a real-world example of a concept car coming to life, take the Chrysler turbine car...

...and let Jaguar build it. 780 horsepower, 0-60 in 3.4 seconds:

Sadly, it, too, is just a concept car. But unlike the Chrysler Turbine, the Jaguar C-X75 is a hybrid. Electric car performance, and uses the turbines to charge the batteries.

All you need now is Batman And Robin.
