It seems so creepy and disingenuous, that it actually scared me.
My reenactment of it:
Miley: I got a secret, I'm really Hannah Montana, and want to have a normal life!
Person in crowd: We, your fans want you to be Hannah! Not Miley!
Little girl: We'll keep your secret if you agree to be Hannah Montana, forever and ever..........

The ending creeped me out, more than the ending of the original The Wicker Man.

Definitely an interesting article, Jamie. I'm not sure I believe Hollywood are capable of making something like Hannah Montana ironical so I will bet Hollywood believe their message is a positive influence for all young children everywhere.

For the longest time, I used this image (or something similar to it) when I felt the need to make a not-so-subtle reference to, um... "Googling ones' self."

But then someone had a thread about all the stupid products they sold under the "Hannah Montana" brand name and they included an image of "Hannah Montana Hand Cream," which I thought was truly awesome and so I never miss an opportunity to make fun of it.
