Subject: What styles do you hope STAY in the 2000's?

There were some pretty awful fads. Trucker hats? And maybe the most polarizing of all... Crocs vs. Uggs.

My present haircut. I think it's the one that suits me best and I'd hate to think of it as passe.

Oh, I made a pretty bad title. I mean, what is the worst fashions of the 00's? What should we leave behind us and hope never comes back?

just about everything from 2006-2009. I like most 2003-2005 fads.

You have a great 'do in the pics I've seen of you :)
I hope that people continue to wear their pants below their behind. That way there's more people for me to make fun of. :D

The thong-hanging-out-from-low-slung-too-tight-jeans look was popularized by Britney Spears. I hope they've learned.

I think all those plugs kids wear in their earring holes are repulsive! Why the hell would you want to stretch your lobe out that way?

That quasi-emo-scene-shag-swooped to the side haircut that I don't really know what to call. Its the haircut that it seems like every guy from age 17 to 22 has today, worn by Fred, Owl City, Justin Bieber, Drake Bell, etc. I hope shorter hair goes back in style soon as it is impossible for me to grow mine out because its so wavy.

LOL. I love the way you described the haircut, because that is pretty much exactly what I say all the time.
Though being a male, I have to say I always thought it looked quite attractive on females, and though I may sound naive I honestly can't imagine it being made fun of decades from now (like the way we make fun of big 80s hair today).

That haircut actually looks entirely different on females than it does males. That being said, it is far more popular with guys than it is girls. Weird thing is, unlike wearing an early 90s haircut in the late 90s, it doesn't look totally out of place to wear the shorter styles from the early 2000s, though its a sign that you are older and more professional.

My 17 year old nephew has his hair like that. I thought it was skater style or something. He also always wears his hat up high and crooked backwards. He's a wonderful kid but I can't stand his style. I hope that style goes out soon.

I notice more kids 17-22 having scruffy hair like Zach Braff from Scrubs. I have that hair style all my life, but out of default since my hair so f------- thick.
I hope those square glasses stay. I don't wear them myself, but it makes me feel a bit better when people look like geeks, even in the ironic way. Plus, women look hot in them imo.

Hey, I'm 17 and I always wear my hat sideways (usually backwards but with the brim to the side). The only time I wear my hat the regular way is when I'm on the baseball field during a game and they make me wear it the regular way. I like wearing it to the side (and my girlfriend likes it like that) , but it seems like alot of older people hate it. I totally respect those that hate it, but whats so bad about it?
The other day I was outside the mall with my friends and I was smoking a cigarette and I heard someone walking by say "look how stupid it is how that kid wears his hat". Its kind of funny how he criticized how I wear my hat instead of criticizing me for smoking.
I always wondered why so many people hate the way a hat is worn, but thats ok if they hate it, I respect them.
I bet 10 years from now I'll be thinking its kind of stupid.

I don't think some of these people think about the future. Yeah, it might be cool when you're 20 but what about when you're 40?

The "Waif Look" on women that was popular from 2003-early 2006. It was just ugly.
Ringtone Rap
Reality Shows(not gonna happen though even though they are mostly popular on cable now instead of Network TV like they were in the first half of the 00's(2000-2004.) A show like "Underover Boss" is tolerable which is on Network TV.
EMO music
The complete marriage of Hip-Hop and R&B its just all the same unlike the 90's.

Not to sound like a dick or anything, but do you want these to stay or is it the list of things you hate in the 00s?

Here is something else I wish would stay in the 2000s....Nickelback and the millions of clones (Daughtry, Breaking Benjamins, etc) and Emo rock. Mainstream rock today sounds indistinguishable to how it sounded in 2002. Hip-hop has gone stale but rock is even worse. Its time for a new sound to freshen it up.

That really freaks me out - I just can't look at them anymore :S
The thong thing was gross - I must admit that I was young and impressionable when the thing fashion really came in at the start of the decade and I did follow it for a while. Oh i am so ashamed to admit that!!!
And I like the shaggy haired style look for boys - so much better than the bowl/curtains look in the 90s, or the over-gelled spikes!!

One trend I remember in high school and hated--I'm not sure if it was a nationwide thing, but it sure as heck swept through Texas--was a hand bag with all these little palliettes and sequines and beads hanging off it. They came in a wild array of colors. It's cute if you see one girl carrying it. IT's pititful to see 150 girls carrying it all at once. ::)
Also now a trend--that started in 2009, respectively--was a cow print bag. Usually in brown and white or black and white is a bright colored trim thiey're every where. From 300 Dooneys to 20 dollar knock offs. I hate these bags. I once considered buying one, but decided against it when I saw it everywhere.

I hate this!
The only person who could make cowprint fashionable is Selena!
This sticks out to me becxause handbags are my thing, and I hate to see someone carrying the same bag as me. It's like 2 women at a party in the same dress.
I do hope my fave bagf is stylish. IT's see through hot pink and black leopard print. I bought it in 2008. :) Pink and black are ALWAYS in.

(Late reaction, I know...)
I thought the waif look was typical mid/late 90s??? Kate Moss and similar models. Or do you mean models like Gemma Ward, let's call it the 'alien generation'? That was hip around 2004.
Things which have to stay in the 2000's:
1) Jumpstyle. Not everybody knows it, but Dutch readers will know what I mean. In 2007 it was the Dutch hype of the year. Dj Porny's 'Me so horny' became number one and almost everybody was doing the typical stupid jumpstyle dance moves. No comeback in the future please.
2) Also mostly Dutch: The typical 'Sneakerz' electrohouse sound. Started in 2004 and hasn't almost changed until now. It's getting utterly boring (but in my opnion, it was boring from the start...).
3) Emo style/music.

I sure as hell wasn't. ;D Yeah, jumpstyle got boring really quick, though I must admit I liked it when it first appeared.
And just FTR: DJ Porny's "Me So Horny" is not a cover version of the 2 Live Crew song by the same name.

I can't believe nobody's mentioned the universally-despised saggy pants look yet!
But yeah, that look has got to go.
Some other fads I'd like to see die out are the skater/shaggy dog look for guys.
I can't stand shutter shades. I think they're tacky as hell.
The sight of guys wearing skinny jeans is sort of an eyesore.
Otherwise, it's all good. ;)
