Subject: The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

I am going out and say that the TMNT that came in the 2000's was far beyond better than the original cartoon. The show had story arcs, competent villains, and really good animation. I wasn't a fan of the later episodes when they wen't psuedo-anime and were back in time. However, I envy the little kids that watched this version of TMNT rather than watching it from a young adult perspective.
Also, there was actually a crossover between the two cartoons called Turtles Forever. It is actually quite funny how the original show characters were protrayed:

Old TMNT is still better. The new one is too modernized

I agree, though the new one is still decent.

Actually, the original Mirage comics were darker, far more violent, and the 2003 "TMNT" was more closer to the source than the Sat AM incarnation.
Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, the creators, also aren't fond of the '80's cartoon.
"Tiny Toons" parodies the turtles craze from the early '90's

I had the chance to catch the "Turtles Forever" that spawned this thread. It was a kick seeing every incarnation of the Turtles in the space of one hour (even if some of them only showed up for a frame or two), and for those who enjoyed the original, you'll be pleased to know that the final showdown really does take place in the original black-and-white univers eof the comics, and the original Turtles play a key role.
Turtles Forever was a gift to the fans, both hardcore and casual, and I'm glad I caught it.
