Seems that British tennis star Andy Murray has been dumped by his girlfriend.  Apparently she complained that he was spending upwards of seven hours a day  :o playing on his PS/3.

If I knew how to put such a device together, I'd patent it, and give you a cut of the proceeds for giving me the idea!  Then you could retire to Tahiti.  Heck, with the dough we'd make offa that scheme, you could BUY Tahiti!

Hmm.  With an Arduino microcontroller, and five buttons, you can do just about any sort of 5-button beatmatching game in a weekend.  Use the Arduino to control a Sybian as an output device in response to keypresses; you wouldn't even need analog inputs to get a prototype out in a weekend.  Analog inputs could be done on weekend #2.  On Weekend #3, glom a DDR floormat's pressure-sensitive contact switches onto suitable parts of the Sybian and let the user control inputs.  Spend intervening weeks doing extensive beta testing on a wide spectrum of users...

The interesting part's writing the code, moistureproofing the electrical bits, using a graphic equalizer to trigger the inputs in time to the beat of some cheezy royalty-free karaoke music (or letting customers select the song and paying a small premium to cover the ASCAP royalties), hooking up the webcams and setting up the servers to handle the traffic from subscription customers, and finally seeing the money roll in.

(This invention is so obvious that it ought to be unpatentable.  Anyone who patents it after today has to consider the possibility that your competitor will use this post as prior art.)
