I have found a new love and his name is Chef Novelli...

He is hot, french and can cook- and loves making desert....

anyway- just watched the first two eps of this (Bravo Mondays 10pm EST... I get it at 7 tho on Directv) !!!



9 wanna be gourmet chefs (some with formal training some with just pure passion) all learn technique from Chef Novelli.

They then have an exam that they can pass or fail... his standards are high... very high... in the last ep only 4 of the 9 students passed.

They fail three times and they are out for good... I don't know if there is a prize at the end. I guess the prize is graduating from a renowned Academy... this guy has one in Europe this is the first in the US....obviously started for TV but still I'm sure its a prestigious honor...


So far I can tell you that Suzanne annoys the crap out of me... she is a Newport Housewife....anyone remember the O.C.  yeah she's one of those bitches.... probably Housewives of Orange County is similar but I've never watched so I can't be sure...

Zoe is my favorite...

I haven't made any decision, other than the same one you made about Suzanne (there always has to be one of those) I kinda like Kup, but wouldn't mind Tracie or Zoe doing well.

and Frenchie... I forget his name Jean Emmanuel or something.... it was revealed in ep two that he has an issue with punctuality and he used to be a porn star. 

you should give it another shot... it was something watching them work last week.

I saw one of the cooking shows on BBC (required viewing at my bother's house, he's a chef) and the guy was totally nasty.  He'd tell the chef, "This place is not a restaurant, it's a total f**king sh*thole, and you know it!."  Then the chef would be yelling at the camera, "That's a lot of f**king bullsh*t" he was on about."

That's why I like to go to my bother's for Thanksgiving.  Some relatives make you feel guilty for not helping out in the kitchen.  Not Stuart.  He doesn't need your help and he doesn't want it.  F'rinstance, has his own way of doing the cranberry sauce with just the right amount of lime juice, lime rind, and just the right amount of cracked roasted hot pepper added at just the right time....
So, if I help, I'll just f**k it all up!  You cook it, I'll eat it, and propose a toast to the splendid Thanksgiving dinner Stuart has prepared for us and we'll both walk away happy...which was not something we did very often in childhood!

Really interesting ep this week...

Suzanne was even more annoying than ever (tho everyone says she's nice so this is either an act she's putting on to get more airtime or they just haven't seen this side of her.... and yes I realize that alot of this is set up by creative editing) but creative editing cannot change the fact that she asked for a tailor because she doesn't find the chef's jacket flattering nor the whole conversation about how "beautiful she is" nor the conversation about makeup... if she didn't say it they wouldn't have it to edit in.  ::)

Kyle and Kup are both arrogant arses who need to get smacked down!

Poor tracey she just seems so out of place with the beautiful cast... I hope she has a good moment soon and I wish to god she'd put on a scarf or tie back her hair it really freaks me out watching her cook... she's not the only one but she is the most obvious one.

Sara and that girl who wears the scarf after getting hair in her first assignment (I forget her name) they a not much more than scene fillers if they pass the academy I'd be surprised...

Sux for 6 of the chefs or (as Chef JC calls them) - cooks who have to wait an entire weekend to find out if they pass or not... I get that he's trying to ignite a spark...get them pressured to perform better but damn the wait would kill me...

love the fake out he did on Zoe and Kyle tho... that rocked!
