considering it's for a TV service... I don't think it's really all that bad. If they had him selling vodka or something, I think I'd cringe a little more.

Yeah I've seen that ad, I found it quite creepy seeing him "resurrected" like that in a new ad. It's probably not too disrespectful or anything but it's weird.

The Simpsons made of something like this. Apparently, it is a lot easier to use dead celebrities to promote their product than celebrities that are alive.

I actually thought that was a clever commercial. I don't think David Spade would do anything to disgrace the memory of Chris Farley. On screen, those two were like brothers.

It's not that bad, Direct TV have used several clips, including Poltergiest,Aliens, Back To the Future & King Kong to name a few.

Not disrespectful, just boring.
Chris Farley milked the "fat guy physical comedy" schtick as far as it was gonna go, 12 years ago.
I wonder how much dough his estate gets for this ad? ???

I don't know that I'd call it disrespectful, but I'll admit it was a little unsettling. I always loved Chris Farley. It was kind of fun to see him again...but it was definitely weird.

I was going to say the same thing.

I think that it was interesting, but the Fred Astire ad with a vaccum cleamer, was in more bad taste.

yeah... from the mid-1990s I think, for Dirt Devil or mops or something. I remember the Simpsons commenting on it as well.
