-They have been vague as to exactly what the deal was about their "forceful discussion about airline policy" which they claim is what distracted them.

LyricBoy's take on this?  I think they are either (a) lying and in fact they both fell asleep or (b) were getting some action on the down-low with each other at the time, and that is why they won't talk about what happened.

Falling asleep would be my first guess. If the recorders show no actions in the time to landing approach, that would pretty much confirm that guess.

A heated argument between the pilots would be my second guess. I've had these in cars, and pulled over before. Hard to do that at 35k feet, but I could see a "I'm not landing this effing plane until we resolve this" happening in the air. If radio was turned off, this would seem plausible.

Looking at the flight path, and the lack of any trouble calls to ground, I really have no idea. I guess we'll know for sure in a few weeks.

I do find it odd that Cole has denied the first two things that come to mind...

I figure that whatever their story is, it has to be a good one, else they would not be so tight-lipped.

Of course, it is also possible that perhaps they had a stewardess flight attendant or two in there with them...  :P
