Nothing to wonder about -- it's not like the selection process is biased towards intelligence. 

If you want to include State beauty pageants, there was that former Miss Alaska who wound up running for Vice President, and who's now doing motivational speeches and a book tour.  And keep an eye out for Miss Teen South Carolina 2007.  She has a great future in politics.

Maybe that's why it takes gay men to judge these contests.  Carrie Prejean looks to me like just another porn star and what do I care?  I made the Anita Bryant comparison less on cosmetics than on beauty queen-turned right wing activists.  Prejean is on FOX News quite a bit and, if you hadn't noticed, being a dumb blonde is very important for Roger Ailes.
