Seems a woman in New Zealand was fired over her ALL CAPS "shouting email" style. She sued and won a $17k judgement.

Some of my less computer-savvy work colleagues do this as a matter of course!
What for, I don't know...perhaps they think the CAPS LOCK cruise control makes them appear 'in command'! ::)
Or more likely, they've forgotten how to disable the bloody thing!

Well way back BC (that's before computers) I had a buddy who would not write, he would only print. And it was ALL CAPS. Took him forever too, printing takes time.
Annoyed me for some reason. Years later I found out why! ;D

Some people not in the know may think BLOCK CAPS makes text easier to read.
THEY PROBABLY ALSO THINK THAT YELLING AT YOU MAKES IT EASY FOR YOU TO HEAR ;D

A buddy of mine got kicked out chat rooms for typing ALL CAPS when he was new to the 'net. See, Sam's got nerve damage in his hands, so it's easier if he has to press fewer keys, but he didn't know ALL CAPS meant shouting, so it was:
"Dude, quit shouting at me!"
"I'M NOT SHOUTING AT YOU!"
"Yes, you are!"
"WHEN? WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT THIS SHOUTING SH*T?"
"See you're shouting at me again, and I'm telling the moderator!"
And so on and so forth.
It took a couple of times for anyone to bother to tell Sam that ALL CAPS indicates SHOUTING mode.
so now he types in all lower case and gets banned from chat rooms the way he always got kicked out of social groups...by simply being an asshole to people!

My mother iis guilty of this crime. She swears it's because she can't read the small type very well, but she's a brooklyn Italian and she's just always screaming! ;D
