A 59% approval rating in today's polarized political scene is actually a pretty good number.

There was no way that ANY president... repub or dem... could maintain the extremely high approval ratings that O'Bama had at the outset of his presidency.

However... if O'Bama throws the dice on health care and they come up snake eyes, he'll be seen as a paper tiger and the remainder of his term could be troublesome for his domestic agenda.

Republicians must be laughing their asses off, right now.

I though the lovefest was over but the media wasn't really tough on him in his press conference last night.

That poll must have been at the start of his presidency because now his approval rating is like 58% I think. I mean thats more George W. Bush and Bill Clinton numbers at this time of their respective presidency's(1st terms) rather than the mid 60% approval rating that Obama was getting before.

i think people have just been disillusioned and realize that all politicians pretty much are lying scum.  ::)

Obama's gallup approval is now 53%.

Obama on day 100 got an approval of 65%.  And if you thought that he couldn't get any higher, Kennedy on day 100 got 83%! (he averaged in the near 80s in his first six months).

A lot of Obama's approval rating is coming from Blacks (understanderbly), in that gallup approval poll 95% of blacks approve of him.  72% of hispanics and only 47% of whites.  So if he hadn't been such an historic presidency he may well be less than 50% right now....

Maybe.

Look at Clinton, he had a love fest for a few years until 1998. And GWB had a love fest between 9/11 and the start of the Iraq War...then he became a sheesh-stain to America and the world...and the 7th Worst President Ever!
