Subject: Pirate role for Samuel L Jackson

Samuel L Jackson is to star in a new movie about a recent Somali pirate hostage drama.
Jackson will play the part of freelance journalist and hostage negotiator Andrew Mwangura, who acted as a go-between when Somali pirates took several ships hostage.
Mwangura is an ex-marine engineer who runs the Seafarers' Assistance Programme, a non-profit group that provides humanitarian aid to seafarers.
The project is still in the early development stage, and no writer or director has been recruited as yet, www.firstshowing.net reports.
Jackson is working with producer Andras Hamori on the film. The pair previously worked together on The 51st State and are also collaborating on the JG Ballard adaptation Running Wild.
