  To add:  Metallica is a no-brainer choice, IMO.  I thought Run-DMC a curious selection for induction, but no less proper...

I agree with these choices, sure, but balk at the whole idea of the Hall of Fame in general.  I mean, Rush is still not in there!  Their selections seem so random  ???

Metallica one is the long time coming.  Seriously, they just have a new game out and are going to be on tour now.

Whoever doesn't care doesn't truly care about popular music then! Just my two cents.

   By that reckoning should Metallica be accepted into the R&RHoF?  They're not "rock and roll" in it's strictest terms...

  I've already read about the complaining - Run-DMC's acceptance is making a mockery of the Hall of Fame...

Not totally, but with alot of today's music, in many years time, we'll see the likes of Green Day, Slipknot, and other non "rock and roll" bands the like in the R&RHoF.  Apparently as long as there is a guitar in the music, then it's rock :(

I personally tihink that they both belong, but Metallica shouldn't have gone in before bands like:
Judas Priest
Alice Cooper
Iron Maiden
Rush
Kiss (they did help with the formation of glam)
Motorhead
Steppenwolf
Ozzy Osbourne

   I think it's supposed to be influential and/or groundbreaking artists, so Run and Met fit the bill...

   Roxy Music is overdue.  Bryan Ferry is already eligible for his solo work...

Even though it was in C-Town after a 12-Year Hiatus, The only ones that deserved it was Little Anthony and Jeff Beck.

Tell me when Donovan, Chicago, The Moody Blues, or Weird Al get the Rock Hall nod.
