Subject: Where Can I Find Writing Credits?
Written By: PopTunez on 12/11/08 at 8:50 pm
I'm having a hard time finding accurate writing credits for pop tunes online. Can anyone tell me a good site with accurate info? General google searches tend to say stuff like "by the Flaming Lips" or something, referencing the performer/band instead of the actual specific writers. Thank you.

I don't know if it will help but whenever I have a question I use:
http://allmusic.com/

wikipedia sometimes mentions it in their articles. It depends on the band

Great, thanks!
Thanks for the wiki suggestion, karen, I had tried it, but it didn't help with the tune I happened to be looking for this time.

What tune are you looking for? Perhaps someone here might know who wrote it?

I use wikipedia sometimes, but I don't really know how much of the stuff on there I can trust as anyone can go in and edit those pages

Not Two Little Boys by Rolf Harris
Probably because its so old that no one thought to notate the writing credits. The earliest known recording was by British Music Hall star Harry Lauder in 1903. Its believed to have been written in 1903.
Rolf was made aware of it by Aus country star Ted Egan in 1969. I have his original single from that time and it has no writing credits - it just says "arranged by".
