Did anyone see it?  It was shown before Quantum of Solace at the theaters, and I caught snippets of it on the TV and then downloaded it off Yahoo.  It looks...interesting, and frankly I'm on the positive side of excited at this point.  I hope they show more, I hate having to wait so long :P

I got unlazy and loked it up.  His name is Chris Pine and he was in 'Smokin Aces' and 'Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement' (Yes, I liked that latter film, but don't tell no one.  I just wanted to see Anne Hathaway LOL)

I'm not sure I like what they did to alter the Enterprise's appearance, but at least the general shape of the ship was kept and they seem to be keeping the uniform color scheme too...owing to the fact that most of the technology today was in some way inspired by Star Trek, I guess they had to update the show quite a bit from canon so us Trek purist folk will just have to suck it up :P

The one thing that makes me laugh is this new Star Trek film is a prequel, which would confuse alot of people.  When you watch this film, make note of all the special effects and top technologies, then go back and watch the original 1979 film (or the Original series) and it's almost like the original is the prequel :D

I am still looking forward to this new movie though.  Apparently Shatner was upset that he is not going to be in it.  YO BILL!  They call it a prequel for a reason.  It takes place before YOU existed :D
