Subject: Best Albums of 2008
Written By: whistledog on 07/29/08 at 11:22 pm
What albums have you heard that are your favourites of 2008? (an album released this year)
Most of the albums I love, aren't released over here, so I've downloaded many and I listen to them at work alot. Here's a few faves for me of 2008 albums ...
Dancing in Orbit - September

'Dancing in Orbit' is the Belgium/Netherlands release and contains 19 tracks. The North American release features the same album sleeve, but is self-titled and only features 14 tracks. Includes the hits 'Cry For You', 'Satellies' and 'Can't Get Over'. In reality, the album is a compliation of songs from her 2005 album 'In Orbit' and 2007 album 'Dancing Shoes' to introduce her to the US and other countries where she isn't (yet) known. 'Cry For You' has been a Top 40 hit in many countries, and is currently at #61 in Canada. It's currently only at #106 in America, but it topped the US Dance Chart

Left: Original release. Right: UK Release
Actually a 2007 release, it was not released in the UK (and possibly America, if it has not been released) until 2008. Apart from the new hits 'Jumping All Over the World' and 'The Question is What is the Question', the album comes with a bonus disc featuring all their career Top 10s in their native Germany. As for rest of the album's 13 original tracks, great highlights include several 80s cover songs, a fantastic song called 'And No Matches' and a very catchy track called 'Whistling Dave' which samples "Music A" from the Nintendo Game Boy version of 'Tetris' (For all you Game Boy fans, you will love this song)

Massive 2 Disc set containing 30 songs. Includes new tracks, as well all his previous hits with Ultrabeat and as Styles and Breeze, including one of my all-time favourites: 'Heartbeatz' by Styles and Breeze featuring Karen Danzig. Just a fantastic song!
