I gave up any thoughts of playing any stringed instruments of seeing this some months back.

go up to about 3 minutes and you'll hear what i think is the most impressive and challenging guitar piece ever written. i have a recording of segovia doing it in the 60s in his prime. this guy actually does it too fast but it's still friggin' impressive as hell.

Petrucci is insane.
He does everything whilst still maintaining a melody to the structure as a whole.
You've heard Michael Angelo Batio right? He's incredible in regard to how fast he plays, but that's it, it's just fast, there's no composition, just speed.

Yeah, he does the Richard Thompson thing, you know him right? He's got abnormally large hands.. but for real, not like you with your photo-enhanced hands.

did i post the inspector gadget one yet? not only good technically but he also added a jazz breakdown and a hilarious slide bit at the end. AND he dressed like inspector gadget. it's just all-around genius.
