If anyone here is an Adventist, the time would vary. But many thought it would be 1984, 2000, or even 1914.

For some, the world did end in 1914.

December 21 2012 the earth and everything else around this universe will be sucked into a black hole located around the milky way or so and that as they say will be that. Myan's knew and it is written in the I Ching I have been told.

Apparently the Mayan calander stops at 2012.
Do they know something we don't?
Atleast it gives me an excuse not to go to work! ;D
"I can't go, why? the Mayans said the world will end, and they never have been wrong." ;D

It was supposed to be 5/7/1998.
One sect believes that when the Great Salesman was reading the date off an alien schedule of planets slated for cleansing, and he read it upside down. Gotta wait 'till 8661/L/5.
The other sect says whether it was 1998 or 8661, nobody specified which calendar was in use. The world could end tomorrow, and you might die!

Nobody comes down in to the cave.. even the dogs are sort of freaked out.
I pinned a cockroach to the wall as a warning to others, I think it warns people as well.

DAVID BOWIE
Five Years
Pushing thru the market square, so many mothers sighing
News had just come over, we had five years left to cry in
News guy wept and told us, earth was really dying
Cried so much his face was wet, then I knew he was not lying
I heard telephones, opera house, favourite melodies
I saw boys, toys electric irons and T.V.'s
My brain hurt like a warehouse, it had no room to spare
I had to cram so many things to store everything in there
And all the fat-skinny people, and all the tall-short people
And all the nobody people, and all the somebody people
I never thought I'd need so many people
A girl my age went off her head, hit some tiny children
If the black hadn't a-pulled her off, I think she would have killed them
A soldier with a broken arm, fixed his stare to the wheels of a Cadillac
A cop knelt and kissed the feet of a priest, and a queer threw up at the sight of that
I think I saw you in an ice-cream parlour, drinking milk shakes cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine, don't think
you knew you were in this song
And it was cold and it rained so I felt like an actor
And I thought of Ma and I wanted to get back there
Your face, your race, the way that you talk
I kiss you, you're beautiful, I want you to walk
We've got five years, stuck on my eyes
Five years, what a surprise
We've got five years, my brain hurts a lot
Five years, that's all we've got
We've got five years, what a surprise
Five years, stuck on my eyes
We've got five years, my brain hurts a lot
Five years, that's all we've got
We've got five years, stuck on my eyes
Five years, what a surprise
We've got five years, my brain hurts a lot
Five years, that's all we've got
We've got five years, what a surprise
We've got five years, stuck on my eyes
We've got five years, my brain hurts a lot
Five years, that's all we've got
Five years
Five years

Oh yeah! "Ziggy Stardust," for me that was summer of '86. I heard it years earlier on my big sister's turntable, but that's when I discovered it for myself. I was intrigued with that song. What did it mean? I listened to it over and over. Of course, I was hanging out with Aunt Mary Jane.
;)
Funny thing is "Five Years" gets overlooked. "Ziggy Stardust," "Moonage Daydream," "Starman," "Sufragette City," "Rock 'N' Roll Suicide" -- I love them all too...but nobody talks about "Five Years."
