Subject: Morgan Freeman is to star in a new film about Nelson Mandela.

Morgan Freeman will play the former South African President in The Human Factor.
The movie will be set immediately after the end of apartheid, when South Africa hosted the 1995 Rugby World Cup.
Freeman said: "I have known Nelson Mandela personally for quite some time, and am continually in awe of his enormous presence in the world. The opportunity to portray him in this film is a great honour."

Morgan is a fine actor, but I won;t pass out the cigars until I see the flick. ;D

True, an actor can only be as good as the script allows.
As for Morgan, I'll always have a soft spot for him since he taught me to read (on The Electric Company), problem now is, where do you go once you've played God in the movies?
Evan Almighty is going to be lousy for three reasons:
1. Steve Carrell's character is a jerk, as we saw with Bruce.
2. Everyone pretty much already knows how the story's going to end.
and 3(most important). NO JIM, NO JENNIFER!

I wonder if in the film they will make use of the classic 'Free Nelson Mandela' by the Special AKA. I always liked that song :)

You're right! This movie has a great potential for a awesome soundtrack.
Along with the Special AKA, it could have Ladysmith Black Mambazo/Paul Simon, mbaqanga, Lucky Dube, maybe some Bubblegum music.
Remember the song "Sun City" and other music inspired by events in South Africa in the 80's-90's?
Could be a good soundtrack if someone puts it together right....
Morgan Freeman is a great actor, don't see how he won't do a exceptional job. Can't think of a better fit for someone to play Nelson Mandela. 8)
