I guess the skate punk stuff was a 1994-2002 thing (bands like Blink 182 were on the latter end of it). It never died a hard death, it just doesn't pervade as much as it once did. In fact, most things from the '90s are that way - more forgotten about by the trendiest people, but not truly hated or anything either.
