Subject: A channel devoted to TV movies!
Written By: star500 on 03/29/07 at 10:22 am
Hey I was wondering what people would think of a TV channel totally devoted to TV movies. They could show a variety of movies, from the 1970s to now. They could even have theme nights, like for example, every Friday night, have a Horror Movie fest and show a bunch of horror TV movies. I think that this idea would totally work, because a lot of TV movies are not on DVD or VHS and if you taped them off the TV when they came on, you were lucky! If you didn't, well maybe they will show it on TV again and maybe not. But if they devoted a channel just to TV movies, you could tape all the ones you want and then if you have a DVD/VCR recorder you could put your TV movies that are on tape to DVD.

Let's not forget "A Very Brady Christmas" too, or the "CHiPS" reunion TV movie.
I'd tune in to watch that sort of thing... 8)

Ah yes - the sitcom specials! I loved Castaway on Gilligan's Island where they create that Hawaiian resort. We loved that as kids!

That's a cool idea and while we're at it, why not have a specific certain time slot (say, 7pm) where they could rerun an old miniseries and have it on consecutive nights throughout the week?
I'd love to see "V" again, that was pretty trippy.

Both mini series of V and the entire series are available on DVD.
I have been watching Sleuth on Directv. Its channel 308 and they show some pretty cool 70's tv crime movies. I just watched a remake (why?) of Double Indemnity with Richard Crenna in the Fred MacMurray role. It was bad but it was produced by Steven Bochco so ya know I had to watch it.
Columbo plays on one of the networks often and those are fun to watch although they're on dvd too.
Lifetime tv, lifetime movie network and Lifetime real women (251, 252, 261 on directv) play great tv movies but mostly from the 80s - today.
I'd love it if TVland would go retro again (instead of showing newer shows) and include reunion movies in their lineup.

What they don't have a Kim Richards channel already? I swore I saw one in the upper 300s of my Directv
