I'm not sure what all to think.  I'm a huge fan of John Carpenter's Halloween and I'm anxious to see what Rob Zombie does.  I'm a little afraid, because I don't want "Halloween" to become a 'gore' flick.  Then again, a part of me is really exited because I'm anxious about the cast.  I was really happy to see some of the actors portraying the roles.

I'm going to be the most judgmental of Malcom McDowell who is going to do his best to portray "Dr. Sam Loomis".  Donald Pleasence was a phenominal actor and gave an outstanding performance as the original Dr. Loomis.  I trust in McDowell to do his best.

Other's to note in the cast are Danielle Harris, who already has famous ties to the Halloween movies being in both parts IV and V.   

Brad Dourif, famous for being the voice of 'Chucky' in the Child's Play Movies.  A master of horror with in another movie making his way into Halloween sort of a means of respect if you ask me.

Anyway, I'm exited.  I have faith in Zombie to do his own thing yet stay loyal to the true fans.

Why oh why try and fix what is not broken?  I am not a fan of horror films, because on the whole....they kinda suck, but Carpenter is a genius and should not be fiddled with.

I just got through reading the script.  A part of me is hoping like Hell that it's not legit and the 120 some odd pages I just read are NOT the real thing.  If so, what a huge dissapointment.  I've had a lot of letdowns this week, this isn't near as big compared to some, but if the script I just read is indeed the script being used for the film, this is going to suck like no other.  Zombie runied Halloween.

Rob Zombie is exactly what horror needed right now. I can't wait till this comes out. :)

I love horror movies but House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects were disgusting and depressing.

I've always said the scariest movies I've ever seen were the first 10 or so minutes of When A Stranger Calls (the original)  and the last 20 minutes of Halloween.  Actually the last time I saw Halloween I was bored with it but that last 20 minutes kicks the ass of almost every film that's come since  (Well the beginning of High Tension but that ending sucked so bad it don't want to get into it!) 

Isn't the point of a slasher flick the gore? I mean how suspensful is it to know Mike Myers is hiding in a closet or possibly behind the open refridgerator door? At some point you expect him to be there so the gore is the pay off. 

Give me gore but don't mess up the Halloween ending its just too good.

Ugh. I hate when my favorite movies are remade.  Halloween is one of those classics that can't be redone in my opinion.  Zombie will make it kind of plain- his horror films are not that good...what i miss in his films are the little details.  Okk, it's not just him. Current film makers dont have to make raw films on low budgets anynmore and therefore the movies dont seem to be ralistic.  Halloween was great cuz it weas in a small town.  There were kids in the background and ambient sounds and the girls were so suburban....

even down to Laurie's white wool tights (a style i try to bring back again and again) their boring lives and their everyday-nessmade the film scary to me; like it could happen anywhere.

ok, i'm getting too deep into it. i hope he stays true to the idea of hell coming to a small town- and your town is next!
