i think it wakes up a process latent in your mind. the first time around your mind hasn't learned to clue into it yet, you have to practice it.

i don't think these kids will have any long-term effects from doing this, in itself it's a nonevent. i have friends who spark in the next room to their single-digit-age children, though, and i bet getting a contact, day after day, from that, that WOULD have an effect.

anyway, as to what this says about these two boys' home and community situation, that's another matter entirely. THAT's the part that's sad.

And regardless of whether or not they felt the effects of the pot, 2 and 5 is just too young to smoke it. Besides, they said the five year old knew how to inhale that sh*t, so I don't think it was their first time. :P

I hate beer and can only tolerate Guinness. Doesn't faze me though. Give me actual whisky, vodka, scotch, whatever, and I'm pretty much wild until I pass out. The night of the Jager I was at home (luckily), so my family dragged me to my room and tossed me in bed to sleep it off. I woke up the next morning perfectly fine. Same with that bottle of Goldschlager (although I can't stand that crap now).

I think you're wrong.  Drug use causes changes in the brain.  Even in a 12-15 year old, drug use causes brain damage.  The brain of a 2 or 5 year old isn't as developed as that of an adult.

As Jess & I have both pointed out, this obviously wasn't their first time as they were BOTH inhaling, knew how to hold the blunt, etc.  I certainly hope that there IS no damage to these kids.

Guess the kids are now in protective custody and the cops are thinking about filing charges against the mom and the cameraboy.  Obviously, smoking pot is not an unusual occurrence in this lady's house if her nephew had no problem tokin it up while she's "sleeping" in a bedroom.

For instance, as I mentioned a month or so ago.. a close family member of mine hooking up with my ex-girlfriend.. now.. not that big a deal, but obviously that's not just chance. I totally missed that one.. my folks totally missed the girls that used to come out of my room at 6am.. I dunno, maybe they did miss the fact that little brother was smokin' up with the kids.

And I spend the entire time laughing my ass off, my husband looks like he's asleep.  But even if they eyes were just red, as a parent I would question why the eyes are red.

This kind of sick, horrifying crap goes on all the time.  Always has.  These creeps just got caught, that's all.  Put video cameras in the hands of stupid people and they'll be stupid enough to record themselves doing stupid things--a theory proven time and again!  It's like the tape I saw of the kids driving around shooting passers by with paintballs.  The last frame is a police cruiser coming around the corner!  Or the tape I saw of the dudes mugging and peeing on some poor S.O.B.  ("Booom! Knocked the mother****er out!")

I dunno.  I was nine the first time I smoked it!  I took one puff, coughed my azz off and didn't touch the stuff again for seven years!
