so... basically it sounds like she had a shouting fit and maced this chick. and they get her up on an attempted murder charge? okay, she had a bunch of weird crap in her car but she was obviously on some othello-style jealousy freakout. did i miss something? did she really hurt this woman? or did they just nab her while she was lovecrazed and making a string of horrendously bad decisions? i didn't read every word of the article so it's conceivable i missed the part where she started stabbing the girl with a ballpoint pen or something.

I just feel awful for her husband and kids. Can you imagine finding out that your wife is cheating on you and plotting horrendous acts and then having them splashed all over the country? Yikes.

People from all walks of life melt down and go bonkers.  There's no law that says it can't happen to astronaut.  Given the tiny number of astronauts and the rigorous requirements one must meet to become an astronaut, it is just extremely unlikely to have an astronaut behaving like a Springer Show guest.

Improbabilities--which one is higher:
a. Finding intelligent life on another planet.
b. One female astronaut driving 900 miles in a diaper to kill another female astronaut over the affections of a male astronaut?

A matter of perspective, I guess.

LOL  My husband and I just got into a huge fight over this topic.  Apparently he cannot stand the fact that I don't feel bad for this woman.

The girl who was the victim in this episode, Colleen Shipman, is a fellow graduate of Center Area High School in Pennsylvania.

Shucks, we used to be known as the home of Joe Letteri,  four-time Oscar winner and Bob Trimble, voice of the Buffalo Sabres.  Now all of that is cast aside for Colleen Shipman and her role in the passion play "Lust in Space".  Heh heh...

We seriously can't make this sh*t up, so we'll just take the true story and make a movie out of it
