Subject: Pa. Casino: 102K Jackpot Mistake...

What would you do if the casino told you the jackpot you hit was a mistake? So far the news covering the story
never stated what was on the screen as far as bars or fruit. Just that a message stated the guy won the jackpot.
If he had three bars or whatever was needed to win the jackpot then I say he deserves the money, but if no
winning combination was shown he doesn't win.

Man, that's gotta suck.
The casino could have offered a little bit more than two comps for the buffet. That's like adding salt to the wound.

According to our local news, they also offered to put a hundred dollars credit on a slot machine for him.
He turned them down.
I've seen an interview with him where he stated the casino had him in an office for over a 1/2 hour and
never once did they let him believe he didn't win.

If I was in that guy's shoes, I'd sue. If that alarm/bell goes off and indicates I was a winner, I ain't leavin' without my f'n money

Ditto. That's a crock of sh*t. Now you're going to have all these casinos saying that the jackpots are "mistakes". ::)

How did the casino know it was a mistake. I know computers control the spin of the wheel and is programmed
to "hit" in a certain number of spins. Did the casino know exactly when the jackpot was to be hit, which incidently
was hit a few hours after the "mistake?" Wouldn't it be unethical or illegal if they did know?

I hear of these kind of 'errors' at least once a month around here. If it shows you as a winner.. You win.. no bull s***. Those machines are supposed to be `random chance` yea sure they are.

The casino should just suck it up and pay the man. It was their error, they should pay then correct it.

Reaks of cheating by the casino..as stated, they were running a test of the machine and apparently it went to the machine the guy was playing..which means...someone CAN control the pay out!!!!!
Frauds!!!
I only gamble on games of chance as no one can tell the outcome unless they 'stack a card deck' ..
Another story ran not too long ago where a celebrity(former ice skater) hit on a machine that said she had $1 million credit but the lines had NO MATCHES that would dictate she wins it and trhe Casino said THAT was a mistake...NEVER HEARD THE OUTCOME ON THAT ONE...SHE WAS TALKING OF SUING...
On the Jimmy Kimmel LIVE show they did a segment where a cast player puts his voice trhough an ATM machine in a casino giving the person a hard time as a joke..unless they set up the machine with something special..how do we know someone ISN'T controlling the numbers you enter from a back room?
(As the joker would not give their card back and ask them to put their face up to the screen as a gag)..something CAN run the machine from another room...
Casinos have been heard to say they may try this in the future..where the electronics room will program a jackpot or two a day..so if someone tries to CHEAT on the machine, The casino would know it wasn't supposed to pay off..very tricky!

Update:
The Gaming Control Board blamed the snafu on human error and awarded Stephen Wilkinson
the jackpot of $102,000. According to the local news, the Casino also offered a few more
buffet vouchers.
