What a Dick.

I am SO sick of people caring about every Tom, Dick, and Harry saying the n-word. Until people realize that celebrities are just stupid people like everyone else and stop taking personal offense at every sh*tty little thing they do...God. Honestly, I can't care less what some moron says anymore. I'm not going to cry if somebody calls me a kike or a ******. And people who still are ignorant enough to say stuff like that, not in jest, feed off negative attention. The issue with our education system is that it just says things are "bad" without explaining why adequately, because explaining why adequately would be too damn painful. This is why people don't want The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn to be in a library who are too thin-skinned to look at racism as what it was, an issue that is still present, are stupid and the biggest part of the problem today. Change, which will never completely come, is created by education and not simplistic saying such and such is bad. So much racism goes on in my age group nowadays as a rebellion against the free-speech suppressing status quo of PC. And the public school system has made it so that racism and prejudice are able to fester underneath as a form of rebellion against the status quo, because it still does a sheeshty and one-dimensional job of educating people about the evils of racism. Until we can talk about racism and not be so skittish and fearful that we pretend an awful but very important word never existed, this country is never going to become less racist. EVER. Shoot me if you feel like it for stating my honest opinion.

We do not want to recognize that prejudice exists but, as you say, the PC police think that by pretending that it does not exist that it will go away.

Somebody who WANTS to say, perjoratively, the N-word in their heart, but does not because he feels he will be publically flogged, is far more dangerous than the same person who says it out loud and is seen by everybody for what he is, a bigot.

I have a customer who is so brain-dead that they actually issued us a formal memo requesting that we prevent truck drivers from entering their plant if they have those little chrome "sillhouette of a naked lady" mud flaps, or confederate flag decals on the windows.  They did so because some employee threatened to sue for some sort of racial/sex harassment thing.

We generally "flipped off" this customer and suggested to them that they could either have a naked-lady-chrome-mudflap-free manufacturing plant, or they could ship their product.  They wisely decided to continue shipping their product.
