Boy shot dead after egging an SUV.
When I was 15 I was riding my bike next to a busy street and I got hit in the chest by an egg from a passing car. A week later it happened to someone else and they got hit in the eye and were blinded in that eye. Years later my car was hit by teens throwing eggs at passing cars. I turned the car around and went back but all I saw was three people running away.
People can have their opinions about this but unless it's happened to you -- getting an egg thrown at your car and seeing it splatter all over the place, well, it's a little like being spat on. Some people are going to react differently than most. And there's no way of knowing the state of mind the person who just got hit is going through. A really bad day, week, year at the job? A not so nice divorce in progress? Who knows. What I don't understand is why some people make it so easy to put themselves in a situation where they will more than likely overreact, like keeping a loaded gun handy in the car with you. That

Hmm, we had a similar shooting last year in sunny Didcot where I live. A lad threw an apple core at this guy in his car, so he went off got a shotgun and came back and blasted the lad off his bike.Thankfully the boy wasn't badly injured. What always amused me was the guy in the car was of 'no fixed abode' ie; homeless *but* he managed to get a gun from somewhere!

One of hubby's coworkers' house was getting egged & TP'd every night for about a week straight so he decided to go out one night and wait.....armed with a hammer. Well, the kids pull up and start chucking eggs so he runs out and starts yelling at them so they take off. They drive down the street, and he's standing by the side of the road trying to get the plate when they turn around and come right at him. He swings the hammer, hits the car and they keep going. He calls the police (who have been to his house a few times already), gives them the plate, files a report, etc. WELL, the next day, he gets a call from this girl's mother threatening to sue him if he doesn't pay to repair the car :o

Our local cable company carries KTLA, a Los Angeles Superstation, and there was a story on Tuesday, I believe, about a 9 year old girl who was killed in some crossfire from rival gangs. The cops let the two suspects go after they determined that they were shot at first, calling it self defense. That may be true, but what the heck are manslaughter charges for, if not for a situation like this? Having 2 daughters of my own, this makes me sick! >:( >:(
