The song's not that bad compared to the other current Disney covers, :)
Though I much prefer Ashley Tisdale an actress instead.
She's currently working on her debut album, which will be released in January of 2007. On her Seventeen blog (though she's 21), she stated she recorded a few songs like "He Said, She Said", which is produced by JR Rotem (Rhianna's "SOS") and Diane Warren written her a song titled "Love Me For Me".
Also co written several tracks her own and stated that it'll be "Edgy Pop".
Though have to wait & see before I pass judgement...

I can see this being a success
It's weird why they put it in the Little Mermaid Special Edition DVD. Probably to attract today's youth/teen to buy it

i really don't like the fact that they re-did a classic song. i think that it was the best the way it was..no point in making it a pop-type song. i guess the cover could have been worse, though, and it is probably to attract today's youth.
they're starting to make a bunch of Disney special edition DVDs. they did all the Aladdin movies (my faves ;D) a little while ago, and that had a music video with jessica simpson and nick lachey re-doing the 'a whole new world' song...it was pretty stinky.

I like Soul II Soul's version from "Simply Mad About The Mouse" better.
