Subject: Is facial hair "in"?

Is it cool? Do girls like it? If so what styles? Me personally, I love facial hair, always have. Anyways, enlighten me! Tell me what you think and what kind of style you're sporting.

It goes in and out as far as trends are concerned IMO. Big mustaches and chest hair were huge in the 1973-80 era (especially on Disco guys ;D ), and in a refined form, sorta in the '80s too. John Oates from Hall and Oates, for instance. It also seemed to be more of a '90s thing, in line with tattoos and piercings.
Personally, any kind of facial hair doesn't look good on me (I've tried it at times in the past), but for some guys I think it's cool. Just depends on the person.

Facial hair doesn't happen to look good on me.
It isn't really all that in right now. The whole "facial hair" thing was huge in the '70s; literally every man at least tried them out. There are some middle-aged men who still have them.
Yeah, facial hair, particularly the long beard, came back in the '90s, as part of the tattoos and piercings fad. You still see tattoos and piercings, and they're still mildly cool, but they're more often thought to be gross now and are more of a "weird person" thing to do, among the peak Gen Y crowd. The discreet lip piercing and diamond nose stud are about the extent of what's trendy. Around 1997 piercings were ubiquitous.

Is it "in"? Not if you let it grow "out"!
A lot of guys I went to school with grew a 'stache or a beard as soon as the could because they could. I never wanted any manifestation of facial hair, and anyway, I was one of these guys who didn't have to shave regularly 'till he was 25!

Sometimes I neglect to shave and end up with five days growth. If anyone asks me, "Growing a beard?," I say,
"I'm always growing one, I just never let it grow very far!"
What guys do these days is manicure all kinds of sideburns, goatees, soul patches, soup strainers, Fu Man Chu's, and so forth. Sometimes they grow out one of those long goatees, braid it, and decorate it with beads and jewelery. The "weird beard" phenomenon started appearing in the late '80s, and has evolved into ever funkier forms since. The "weird beard" (for lack of a better term) is often in conjunction with funky hairstyles, above-the-collarbone tattoos, and facial piercings. I keep waiting for the Salvador Dali waxed moustache to make it's grand entrance!
;D

I haven't tried to grow a beard yet (I don't have much of a beard at this stage anyway, lol), but I'm thinking maybe I should, since I look a bit young for my age. It might mean I won't be asked for I.D. all the time...
