In just over 20 minutes time, the very last edition of a national institution will be shown on BBC2. A show that has been on every week of my life, a show that is renowned throughout the world, and a show that every artist, old and new, want to appear on. A show that I have watched for 25 years, and kept a copy of every show for the last 16 years.
Top Of The Pops - we salute you.................

I have set the DVD to record tonight's homage to a great television programe.
After 42 years of pure pleasure and pop information, there will be a huge void left by the Beeb.

I watched The True Story of Tops of the Pops last night. They said there will be a Christmas Special this year and TOTP2 is still being broadcast.

If there is a Christmas Special, it will not be the same, none of the artists (except those upto end of July) will be performing on the TOTP Stage.

I would imagine they would get some bands in specially for that show and get them to perform highest charting hits from 2006.

Extracts on various programmes but not a whole show as a programme on mainstream BBC, but UKGold did show complete shows, when the channel first started.

Yeah they do a show called TOTP2.

But the BBC kept replacing these shows with Snooker and Golf.

I discovered over the weekend someone (and I will no name names here) has deleted my copy of the final TOTP for the DVD machine!
