WHY?

Did we ever..see Miss America doing commercials after she won?
Will anyone BUY a FORD because he influenced them?
What does HIM SINGING have to do with the product that we'd like to know if the cars/trucks are dependable, built to last etc...

I smell blatant selfless promotion on this that has FORD wasting their money. :-\\

Well, does anyone buy ANYTHING from ANY company simply because of their spokesperson?  Does anyone subscribe to US Cellular because of Joan Cusack or Catherine Zeta-Jones?

Ford sponsors American Idol, why not get their $$ worth?  Why pay a big star when you can write into your "partner" contract "if I pay you $X to sponsor your show, then you guarantee that the next AI will star in a commercial at no additional charge"?

Will anybody buy a Ford because he influenced them? HECK YEAH.  Why do you think athletes and other celebrities make the big bucks doing product promotions?

Did we ever see Miss America doing ads?  I think that the pageant contract prevents it during her reign as Miss America, except for where the pageant already has a deal.

Actually Catherine Z-J never got my motor running.  If SHE is hawking some product it will make me LESS likely to buy it.  :P

He doesn't look old?  He's 29 and he could pass for someone in their 40s.  Not that 40 is old, but he doesn't look young.  And he's not attractive.
