I recently saw the '70s original with Gregory Peck and Lee Remick. A rather sinister little movie, that one is. :)

Furthermore.
666 is meaningless, think what language the 'infallible' bible was written in. ;)

Not to wax too barstool philosophical here, but it depends on what meaning means. All the interpretations and variations of 666 over the centuries is fascinating:

So in the end it's gonna mean what you would like it to mean! For instance, three names, six letters each: Ronald Wilson Reagan.
;D
But this comes from the Book of Revelation. Revelation schevelation. "Revelation" (aka "Revelations") appeals to spiritually immature Evangelicals because it's more like a Mel Gibson action flick than religious instruction. The Evangelicals take it upon themselves to condemn others, and annoint themselves the chosen ones. Yawn. We've heard it all before. IMO, if you're a true-believer, "Revelation" is the least important book in the Bible. Why? Because it's prophesy revealed to some dude name John on the island of Patmos. It's prophesy, it's fate, it's the end, and there's nothing you can do about it. "Revelation" has nothing to say about how you should conduct yourself in the world today (which as far as we can tell is NOT the end) and how you should treat others, how you can make the world a better place, how you can attain peace of mind--you know wisdom. Well, Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, and the rest of those clowns ain't really interested in wisdom. Soooo, it's back to Revelation, and queers and feminists are to blame for 9/11 and all that happy horsesh*t. Anyway...

THE END OF THE WORLD IS NIGH!
They've been saying it for centuries, millennia even. One of these days, they'll be right!

On May 25, 2006, comet fragments are supposed to crash to Earth, triggering mega-tsunamis along the coastlines of the world that will kill millions of people. (Of course, I'm sure that the 2004 South-east Asian tsunami had no formative influence whatsoever on the Psychic whose own keen intelligence and spiritual depth allowed him to peer through the Veils of Time and bear witness to this Doom.)
See here:
http://www.savelivesinmay.com/slimdocs/art-understanding-the-tsunami-en.htm
And to see a similar dire prediction by enlightened religious fanatic Pat Robertson, see here:

Sarcasm aside.... I have nothing but disdain for progosticators of this sort. Most self-declared "prophets" are idiots and charlatans whose ghoulish predictions of imminent disasters and massive loss of life are only meant to garner attention for the "prophet" in question. If they're predictions were not dystopian melodramas, no one would pay any attention to them. These people generally come off to me as smug, arrogant, and insensitive - as though they want their predictions to come to pass just so that they can jump up and down and shriek "I told you so!" like self-righteous little children.

Another blow hard 'psychic'-earth watcher name should be added to the list: Sean David Morten...
He is heard occassionally on the George Noorie/Art Bell show with graphics and windows when things will occur..funny, I don't know how close he hit with this latest Indonesian catstrophe and New Guinea in the last couple of days...
C'mon he isn't THAT good if others don't talk about him..anyone else know his latests 'tries'?
