Subject: 2004 reminded me of 1988

I mentioned in various threads that 2006 reminds me of 1990, and 2005 reminded me of 1989. Also, 2004 reminded me of 1988. One major reason is the elections between a Bush and a Democrat from Mass (1988 had Bush Sr. vs. Dukakis, and 2004 had W. Bush vs. Kerry). The other similarity is that they were both known as happy, optimistic, "feel good" years.

2004, to me, was a Boring Year. Nothing fun or interesting happened. Music was Horrible that year, and not many great movies either
The whole atmosphere of 2004 seemed so dull to me. 2005 on the other hand really cranked it up and seemed like a MUCH more lively year
I agree that 2005 is like 1989

I think 2004 was more redolent of 1984, really, and 2005 of 1985, etc.

I liked 2004. Actually the turn of 2005 was the peak of the decade.
