Subject: Will 2006 be a repeat of 1990 and 1998?

Written By: batfan2005 on 02/05/06 at 12:33 pm

So far, the way 2006 has started off, it looks like its going to be "deja vu" of 1990 and 1998. It's not just me, I've read articles and saw news coverage that compares this year to '98 with the economy. The way the stock market is going (downhill), it looks like its going to be true. I also remember when we were in a recession back in 1990.

Also, '90 and '98 were bad years in pop-culture. The music really sucked ('90 had M.C. Hammer and Vanilla Ice, and '98 had Master P with "Make Em Say Ughhhh"), and the music has been pretty crappy so far this year.

The movies and T.V. of '90 and '98 weren't that good either, at least not as good as their previous years. I can say the same for this year, because from what I saw, there aren't many good movies coming out other than Superman Returns, X3, M:I-3, Da Vinci Code, and a few other movies. The don't think the box office of this year is going to be nearly as good as last year.

The economy will have a serious recession as we go into a housing crash. Pop music and TV will suck. It will be alot like the late 1970s after disco hit its peak and the good TV was dying out, IMO.
